Funded Projects and Research Themes Curious Agents for Network Intrusion Detection (2009-2010) This project is developing curious reflex agents as an anomaly detection approach to network intrusion detection.
	Generative Design of Adaptive Virtual Worlds (2009-2011) This project is developing generative algorithms for the design and adaptation of virtual environments.
	Modelling Motivation for Adaptive, Learning Robots (2008-) This project is developing new approaches to motivated learning that will scale to robotics applications in real world environments.
	Curious Places (2006-2008) This project is investigating the use of motivated learning to create physical and virtual spaces that can adapt to the needs of their users.
	Modelling Motivation for Experience-Based Attention Focus in Reinforcement Learning (2004-2006) This project designed and evaluated computational models of motivation to direct reinforcement learning.
	Using 3D Virtual Worlds for Multidisciplinary Collaborative Design (2005) This project built and evaluated a tool that facilitates collaboration between members of different disciplines during the design process.
	Swarm Intelligence in 3D Virtual Worlds (2004) This project is investigated swarm intelligence agent models for creating adaptive virtual environments.
